Administrative shipping assistants are part of a team that works together with the assistant manager to send orders around the US as well as around the world. This position requires a variety of skills to accomplish different tasks and the successful applicant will posses the ability to multi-task on a regular basis.

We manufacture lariat ropes and related products including a popular horse saddle pad right here in North Idaho Falls. We get orders from emails, phone calls, and faxes and enter the orders into QuickBooks. Once entered, we print them and pull the products from different areas in our warehouse. They are then boxed, weighed, invoiced and set out for pick up. Assistants will be required to learn the product line (www.cowboycordageinc.com) and no previous knowledge of western products is required.

In addition to shipping, sometimes these assistants will help with the manufacturing process of the horse saddle pads including tracing, stacking, and if able, sewing. Assistants are offered training for all tasks and will be placed with tasks they are comfortable with and able to complete.

Shipping assistants should expect to do the following:

  • Assist customers by taking phone calls, answering emails, and/or helping walk-in customers.
  • Ship to customers who are not able to shop locally by loading boxes and sending them UPS and/or USPS. Must be able to ship/move boxes up to 50lbs.
  • Basic cleaning and organizing of work area and warehouse.

This job is NOT:

  • A desk based job with a cubicle.
  • A large warehouse like Amazon that uses automation to pull and pack orders.
  • A production line.

This job is neither fast-paced or slow-paced but rather right in the middle. Shipping assistants have a desk and personal area, but are active during the day and can anticipate sending around 15-25 shipments each. This warehouse area is about 10,000 square feet — NOT a really large Amazon style warehouse! We are a family owned business started in 1980, and we are looking forward to continuing to grow! Must be 18 years of age or older.

Full time positions: health insurance is an option after 60 days (Blue Cross) and life insurance is an option after 6 months.
